I'm SOO excited. I'm so excited to be home. I love DC! this morning i woke up at 7:30 (overslept) to get my hair done at Urban nature styles near Howard. I have my hair in very prominent bantu knots. Rod picked me up and we went to Busboys and Poets. I love the vibe of that place... as does everyone else because it was packed! While there Rod saw some friends he worked with and we all ate together on comfy couches with the wind of the door opening.
Bosboys and Poets is on 14th Street and will be open for 24 hours during this weekend up to inauguration. It is filled with couches, a book store with books filled with African American history, culture, authors as well as books on Democracy. It is a truly DC place filled with white young professionals and black young professionals rocking' natural styles and their own unique styles - my 2 inch high bantu knots fit right in.
Rod knows Mayor Fenty and was able to get tickets to watch the parade from the Wilson Bldg on PA Ave. so I'll be warmer than I thought and may not have so many pictures of heads but may actually have a picture of our new President.
I called my mom who is so excited gushing over 'the Obama express' like Lincoln did and being here. You can feel it in the air the excitement...OK I admit maybe I can just feel my own excitement.
